We provide independent Mr-Glass service across San Antonio, not factory-owned or authorized, and we’ve rebuilt and installed Mr-Glass tub/shower systems and enclosures here for over a decade. Why San Antonio Residents Choose Us for Mr-Glass Service
Graham Stein, who leads our crew, learned construction at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and has spent years in San Antonio homes near the King William Historic District, where older construction demands patience. We know exactly how Mr-Glass Neo-Angle enclosures, Mr-Glass Frameless Sliding Shower Doors, Mr-Glass Tub-to-Shower Conversion Kits, and Mr-Glass Framed Hinged Shower Doors fail under Edwards Aquifer hard water and shifting clay. We stock genuine Mr-Glass OEM gaskets, rollers, and handles. For hard-water rebuilds we often upgrade to marine-grade SS-316 hardware and silicone-bulb seals that outlast factory parts. We’re local. We answer the phone. And every job starts with a written price. For a deeper look at our brand work, see Mr-Glass sales & service.

Common Mr-Glass Construction Problems We Solve in San Antonio
Here’s what we see most often in San Antonio homes, and what’s behind each failure:
- Soft-seal gaskets dry-rot and shrink in attic-level summer heat. West-facing second baths in Alamo Heights and Terrell Hills bake. Those gaskets crack and shrink, causing slow leaks that wick into slab-on-grade subfloors. We replace them with silicone-bulb seals that hold up far longer.
- Calcium crust on Mr-Glass shower tracks within six months. Edwards Aquifer water leaves scale that jams rollers and forces doors off their rails. We strip tracks, re-lube, and set up quarterly maintenance if you want it. This is the single most common call we get from San Antonio Mr-Glass owners.
- Slab settling on expansive clay pulls Mr-Glass tub-to-shower bases out of level by 1/4″ to 1/2″. When the clay shrinks in drought and swells after rain, the pan cracks at the acrylic threshold and lets water behind the tile flange. We reset pans on self-leveling beds so they float with the slab.
- Hairline stress cracks at bottom hinge corners on older enclosures. Parts of Alamo Heights have bedrock a foot below the surface. Original Mr-Glass frames were often shimmed over uneven slab edges, and that stress shows up years later as cracks at the hinge corners.
- Misshapen or blown-out door seals on tub-to-shower conversions. San Antonio’s dry heat shrinks lower seals, then hard water crusts the gap. Water seeps at the bottom corner and rots the baseboard behind the shower. We catch this early when we’re in for any other Mr-Glass repair.
Mr-Glass Service in San Antonio: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

In Alamo Heights and Terrell Hills, the Edwards Plateau limestone lies so close to the surface that Mr-Glass tub-to-shower conversions routinely require cutting a 4-inch-deep limestone ledge with a diamond blade just to drop the new pan flush. You’d never face that 10 miles south inside Loop 410. When the pan doesn’t sit dead level on limestone, the threshold cracks, water pools, and the frame slowly twists out of square. On slab-on-grade ranches, the same problem shows up differently: expansive clay shrinks during summer drought and settles the slab, taking the shower base with it. We’ve pulled bases that were 3/8 of an inch out of level at the drain boss, with cracked pans and seized rollers. That’s why we check the substrate before we touch the glass. If you’re anywhere in the broader metro, our San Antonio service area covers you.
Last month we pulled a 2011 Mr-Glass Neo-Angle enclosure in a Terrell Hills slab ranch where the southwest corner had settled 3/8 inch. The factory threshold pan was cracked at the drain boss, and hard-water scale had seized both rollers shut. We ground the limestone high spot with a cup wheel, reset the pan on a self-leveling bed, rebuilt the frame with OEM hinges and upgraded bulb seals, and re-glassed with 3/8-inch tempered Starphire as part of our Bathroom Remodeling - San Antonio service. The door now glides with one finger.
Mr-Glass Models & Products We Service in San Antonio
We service all the main Mr-Glass lines: Neo-Angle Shower Enclosures, Frameless Sliding Shower Doors, Tub-to-Shower Conversion Kits, and Framed Hinged Shower Doors. For parts, we keep genuine Mr-Glass OEM gaskets, rollers, and handles on the truck for fast San Antonio turnaround. But we’re straight with you when a 15-plus-year-old Mr-Glass frame isn’t worth re-glassing. We’ll tell you, and we’ll write down the replacement option and price before you decide. Re-glassing isn’t about saving money; it’s about keeping a frame that still has years in it. When the frame is gone, we say so.

FAQs – Mr-Glass Construction in San Antonio
My Mr-Glass shower door rollers keep jumping the track in my San Antonio home – is that hard water or slab movement?
It’s usually both. Hard water crusts the track, the rollers stop spinning, and then any slab movement knocks the door off the rail. We strip the track, check the frame for level, and re-lube or replace rollers. In west-facing baths, we also check the gaskets because heat-warped seals push the door out of alignment. Call (432) 233-0976 and we’ll diagnose it in one visit.
Can Mr-Glass frameless enclosures really be installed on a slab foundation that shifts with San Antonio clay soils?
Yes. The key is not anchoring the frame rigidly to a moving slab. We set the base on a self-leveling bed, use silicone-bulb seals that flex with expansion and contraction, and leave enough tolerance at the tile flange so a quarter-inch of slab movement doesn’t crack the glass. On limestone, we cut the ledge flat first. It’s a substrate job more than a glass job.
How do you remove a Mr-Glass tub-to-shower base that was set over a limestone ledge in Alamo Heights?
We cut the old pan free with a diamond blade around the perimeter, then grind the limestone high spots with a cup wheel until we have a flat seat. If the ledge is more than four inches above the slab, which we see in Terrell Hills, we cut it down before we set the new pan. The glass goes in last, after the base is dead level.
