PGT Driveway & Pavers: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
If you’re looking for PGT driveway and pavers parts in San Antonio, we stock and install PGT-compatible driveway pavers and matching components, with typical installed work running $7,000 – $18,000 for a full paver driveway and $3,500 – $11,000 for a paver patio. The part most owners call about is a cracked or sunken paver section, usually discovered after a heavy rain when water pools where it didn’t before, or when a paver shifts underfoot near the garage apron. We’re an independent service provider in San Antonio, not affiliated with PGT, but we work with their paver systems regularly and can match your existing product by color, profile, and joint width.
What usually brings a homeowner to this page is a driveway that has started to fail in one specific spot: a paver cracked along the tire line, a low spot collecting water, or sand washing out between joints after a storm. The fix is rarely as simple as swapping one paver, because the base under it has usually moved. That’s what we look at first.
Which PGT Models This Applies To

PGT manufactures interlocking concrete pavers in several product lines, including their standard architectural series, permeable pavers, and larger-format slabs. The compatibility detail that matters most: PGT pavers are sized and keyed to their own joint spacing, which means a paver from a different manufacturer will not seat correctly next to an existing PGT paver without leaving uneven gaps or a visible height difference. If your original paperwork is gone, look for the molded product code on the underside of a loose paver, or measure the face dimensions in millimeters. PGT pavers commonly run 60mm, 80mm, and 100mm in thickness, and the thickness tells you what the base was designed to support.
For replacement, we recommend OEM PGT pavers when you need an exact color and profile match, especially on a visible front driveway. For less visible areas or when the original color has been discontinued, a quality aftermarket equivalent can work, but only if the face texture and thickness match within tolerance. We’ll show you samples side by side before any order gets placed. While we’re not affiliated with PGT, we’ve also worked with paver and stone products from Cambria and Silestone on adjacent exterior surface projects, so we understand material matching across brand lines.

Signs Your PGT Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Water pooling in one or two low spots. This is almost always a base settlement issue, not a paver defect. The subgrade under the pavers has eroded or compacted unevenly, and leveling only the surface won’t stop it from returning.
- A paver cracked along the vehicle tire path. Repeated weight over a void underneath causes flex, and concrete pavers crack when they flex. The cracked paver is the symptom; the void in the base is the problem.
- Sand or joint material washing out after rain. When you see small piles of sand at the low end of the driveway after a storm, water has found a path under the pavers and is carrying the bedding layer with it. This accelerates every other failure mode.
- Pavers rocking or shifting when walked on. A paver that moves underfoot has lost edge restraint or bedding support. Left alone, the movement spreads to neighboring pavers and the affected area grows quickly.
- Visible gaps opening between pavers. Over time in San Antonio’s heat and clay soils, the ground moves more than people expect. Gaps wider than a quarter inch usually indicate edge restraint has failed somewhere along the perimeter.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In San Antonio, a full paver driveway replacement runs $7,000 – $18,000 depending on square footage, base condition, and whether we’re reusing salvageable pavers or installing new. Paver patio work lands between $3,500 and $11,000. Driveway sealing on an existing paver surface runs $250 – $700. Partial repairs, like a section rebuild where the base has failed under the tire path, typically fall below the full replacement range but are priced after we see the affected area.
Every quote from us is a written price before any work starts. That price includes the pavers, the base material, sand or joint compound, haul-off of old material, and the labor to compact and level properly. We don’t add line items after the crew arrives. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the completed work, so if a repaired section settles again within a year, we come back and make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
A homeowner can safely inspect their own PGT pavers: look for low spots, check for rocking, and note where sand is washing out. What you should not attempt on your own is removing and resetting pavers over a failed base. The work requires excavating down to the subgrade, compacting in lifts, and re-establishing proper slope, and getting any of those steps wrong means the repair fails again within a season. Cutting pavers without the right saw and PPE is also genuinely dangerous, and PGT’s harder concrete blends throw chips at high speed. If the base has moved or the damage sits on the vehicle path, call us at (432) 233-0976 and we’ll come look before you spend money on a temporary fix.
FAQs

PGT concrete pavers typically last 25 to 40 years in San Antonio when the base is installed correctly, though the clay soil here means the base and edge restraint fail before the pavers do. Call (432) 233-0976 for an evaluation if your pavers are shifting before year 20.
A single cracked paver can be replaced if the base underneath is still sound, but a paver cracked on the vehicle path usually means the base has failed and needs rebuilding, not just a swap. We’ll tell you which situation you have after a site visit.
Most partial base repairs and paver replacements take one to three working days, while a full driveway replacement typically runs three to five days depending on the size of the area and weather.
We don’t warehouse PGT pavers, but we order them direct with quick turnaround from local San Antonio suppliers and can usually start a repair within a week or two of your written approval.
Call (432) 233-0976 to schedule your free estimate. We’ll look at the driveway, measure what needs matching, and hand you a written price before any work starts. Write it down, price it once, do it right.
