Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide

Caesarstone kitchen remodeling in San Antonio typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed, depending on how much of the countertop, backsplash, island, and surrounding cabinetry you’re replacing. We stock Caesarstone-compatible materials and can usually begin your project within a week of your written estimate, not months down the road.

Call (432) 233-0976

Most San Antonio homeowners call us after a chip near the sink edge, a seam that’s begun separating, or a burn mark from a hot pan that won’t buff out. Sometimes the failure is quieter: a countertop that’s dulled past the point where sealing helps, or a corner that cracked when a slow leak underneath finally warped the substrate. You notice it every time you set down a coffee mug. That’s usually when the phone rings.

Before any work starts, you’ll have a written price. Not a ballpark, not a “we’ll see how it goes.” Graham Stein writes every scope of work down before a single tool leaves the truck. Write it down, price it once, do it right.

Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

Caesarstone runs its quartz surfaces in several collections, and they don’t all behave the same when it’s time to remodel. The Supernatural and Classico lines, common in San Antonio kitchens built in the last ten years, use a standard 1¼-inch (3cm) slab thickness that most fabricators can work with. The Metropolitan and Pebble collections lean toward matte and textured finishes, which means edge profiles and seam placement need a fabricator who’s actually worked with those specific textures before, not someone learning on your island.

Here’s the compatibility gotcha most homeowners don’t discover until demo day: Caesarstone slabs have a distinctive veining direction, and if your new piece isn’t cut from the same slab lot or a matched lot, the pattern won’t line up at the seam. We order full slabs and match vein flow before cutting, which is why our written estimate includes the slab selection appointment, not just the installation.

As for OEM versus aftermarket: Caesarstone doesn’t sell “parts” the way appliance manufacturers do. The countertop is the part. When we talk about replacement, we’re talking about new Caesarstone material from the same collection you already have, matched for color and pattern, or a deliberate upgrade to a different Caesarstone line if you’re ready for a full refresh. Elmstead Remodeling San Antonio is an independent remodeling contractor and not affiliated with Caesarstone, but we order directly through authorized Caesarstone distribution, so the manufacturer warranty travels with the finished surface.

Signs Your Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

  • Seam separation at the sink or cooktop cutout. Quartz expands and contracts with temperature swings, and San Antonio’s summer heat pushes that movement hard. A seam that’s opened even 1/16 of an inch means water is getting underneath, and the substrate below is now a breeding ground for mold. This is the most common failure point we see in older Caesarstone installations.
  • Chipping along the front edge near the dishwasher or trash pull-out. Caesarstone is tough, but the unsupported overhang near high-traffic lower cabinets takes abuse from pots, pans, and kids’ step stools. Chips there tell you the overhang was never properly supported with subtop or brackets.
  • Dull patches that won’t polish back. Caesarstone doesn’t need sealing, but harsh cleaners with bleach or ammonia will etch the resin binder over time. Once the binder breaks down, the surface loses its glass-smooth feel and catches crumbs and stains that used to wipe right off.
  • Cracks radiating from a corner of the sink cutout. This is structural. It usually means the sink was undermounted without enough support, or the slab was stressed during original installation. Cracks like this will only grow, especially if anyone ever stands on the counter to change a light bulb.
  • Burn marks or scorch rings that go deeper than the surface. Quartz is heat-resistant, not heat-proof. A cast iron pan straight off the burner can scorch the resin. Surface marks can sometimes be buffed; deep scorch means the material itself is compromised at that spot.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Caesarstone kitchen remodel in San Antonio runs $14,000 to $45,000. The spread comes down to square footage of countertop, whether you’re also replacing cabinets (KraftMaid and Wellborn are in our regular rotation), how much backsplash you’re running, and whether an island is part of the job. A small kitchen with modest countertop replacement can land around $9,000. A full gut with new cabinets, island, Caesarstone throughout, and a tiled backsplash pushes toward the top of the range.

Scope of Work Typical San Antonio Range
Caesarstone countertop replacement only $2,000 – $6,500
Kitchen island with Caesarstone top $3,000 – $10,000
Backsplash installation $800 – $2,500
Full kitchen remodel (cabinets, counters, backsplash, island) $14,000 – $45,000

Every line item is in your written estimate before work starts. The price you sign is the price you pay, no change orders after demo day. That’s the Cedarwell Care Promise, and it’s stamped on every project we do. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the finished work: if it’s not done right, we make it right.

DIY or Call Us?

There are things you can check yourself without risk. Look under the sink at the substrate for water stains. Run your hand along seams to feel for gaps. Check that overhangs have brackets or subtop support. These are all things Graham walks through with you during a site visit, and they cost nothing to look at.

But cutting and installing Caesarstone is not a weekend project. Slabs weigh upwards of 400 pounds. A dropped piece doesn’t just break the counter, it breaks tile, cabinets, toes, and fingers. Cutting quartz requires diamond tooling and water suppression to keep silica dust out of the air, and the dust from dry-cutting quartz is a serious respiratory hazard. This is not the place to save money with a Craigslist helper. If the issue is a failing seam, a cracked corner, or a full replacement, call us at (432) 233-0976. We’ll put a real person on the phone, look at photos, and schedule a walkthrough.
