Abodu Windows & Doors: The San Antonio Owner's Guide
We stock and install Abodu-compatible windows and doors across San Antonio, with most window swaps running $450 – $1,800 per opening and door replacements between $800 and $3,500 installed, depending on size and hardware. If a window sticks, a door won't latch, or a seal has gone cloudy, we can usually have the replacement ordered and installed within a week. What we hear most from Abodu owners is that the problem crept up slowly: a door that needed a firmer pull each month, a window that started letting the Hill Country dust in, or a frame that no longer sits square after a few Texas summers.
Our recommendation is always to call before forcing anything. A binding window or a sagging door is telling you something specific, and the fix is often smaller than a full replacement when it's caught early.
Which Abodu Models This Applies To

Abodu builds their accessory dwelling units with consistent window and door packages, but not every unit year uses the same hardware. The earlier Abodu models (roughly 2019 – 2022) used a standard 36×80 door slab with basic roller catches and screen tracks that were prone to collecting dirt. Newer units moved to a taller threshold and different hinge spacing, which means a door slab from one year will not always drop into the frame of another.
The fastest way to identify your part is the small label on the edge of the window sash or the inside edge of the door slab, near the hinge. It will list a manufacturer code and a size. If the label is faded by San Antonio sun, measure the glass pane (not the frame) and take a photo of the hinge and latch hardware before you call us. For Abodu specifically, we recommend OEM glass panes when replacing a fogged insulated unit, because the frame profiles were built around Abodu's original window supplier tolerances. For hardware like handles, latches, and rollers, quality aftermarket equivalents from brands we already work with (KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone all make compatible hardware lines) often last longer in South Texas heat than the original parts.
We also keep a running note that Abodu units installed before 2021 in San Antonio frequently show perimeter seal failure earlier than expected, because the original sealant was not always rated for our UV exposure. If you are in Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills, or near the King William Historic District where afternoon sun hits the unit directly, that seal is working harder than it would anywhere else.

Signs Your Abodu Windows & Doors Is Failing
- Condensation or fog between glass panes. This means the insulated seal has failed and the argon or krypton gas between the panes has escaped. The glass will never clear, and in San Antonio humidity the trapped moisture will start to haze permanently.
- The door hangs lower on the latch side. Abodu door frames are set into the wall assembly with anchors that can loosen in the clay-heavy soil movement we get around San Antonio, particularly on pier-and-beam foundations in older neighborhoods.
- Windows that slide hard or catch mid-track. Abodu's original rollers are a nylon wheel that flattens over time and picks up grime. This is a simple roller replacement, not a window replacement, in most cases.
- A visible gap of light at the top or bottom of the closed door. The weatherstripping has compressed or the frame has shifted. The gap is what lets in the June dust and the August heat, and it is also what makes your cooling bill climb.
- Latch or handle that feels loose and will not tighten. The screw seats inside the hollow core of the slab strip out over time. It is a common failure point, and it means the door can be pushed open even when locked.

AfterReplacement Cost & What's Included

For Abodu windows and doors in San Antonio, your installed cost generally falls between $450 and $3,500. A single fogged window pane replacement with new insulated glass runs $450 – $1,300. A window sash track and roller rebuild runs $350 – $800 per window. A full door slab replacement with new hardware and weatherstripping runs $800 – $1,900. A full door and frame replacement, including re-anchoring the frame to the opening, runs $1,500 – $3,500.
You get a written price before any work starts. That price includes the part, the labor, shoe covers and drop cloths on the floors, and a photo of the clean-up before the crew leaves. There are no change orders added after demo. We name the part, the brand, and the exact line items in the written scope before a single tool comes off the truck. Our workmanship warranty is the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it is not done right after the install, we make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
A homeowner can safely check whether the rollers are dirty, whether the weatherstripping has tears, and whether the screws on a handle are simply stripped. Those are diagnostic checks, not repairs. What we do not recommend is pulling a fogged window sash out yourself, because the sash is under spring tension in the frame and the glass is a two-person lift. Same warning for a door that will not close: the slab can weigh 60 to 80 pounds, and a dropped door slab breaks toes and tile.
If your Abodu window or door is telling you something has failed, call us at (432) 233-0976. We will ask for the label photo and the measurements, write up the scope, and price it once. No estimate that grows after the crew arrives.
FAQs

Most Abodu window glass units last 10 to 15 years before the perimeter seal fails, and door hardware often needs replacement by year 5 to 8, especially on units that get direct afternoon sun. Our climate accelerates seal failure compared to coastal California. Call (432) 233-0976 and we will help you pinpoint what is actually wearing out.
Yes, if the issue is a worn roller, a torn weatherstrip, or a stripped latch screw, it is a repair and not a replacement, and we will tell you that on the first call. Fogged glass is the one exception: once the seal fails, the glass unit must be swapped. Estimates are free, so call (432) 233-0976 for a straight answer.
A single window pane or roller replacement usually takes one to two hours on site. A full door slab and frame replacement takes half a day, including re-anchoring and sealing. We never start without a written price, and we leave with a photo of the clean-up. Call (432) 233-0976 to schedule a time.
We stock common Abodu-compatible rollers, latches, handles, and weatherstripping from the brands we trust, including KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone hardware lines. Custom glass sizes are ordered to spec and usually arrive within three to five business days in San Antonio. Call (432) 233-0976 with your label photo and we will tell you if it is on the truck today.
