Blanco Driveway & Pavers: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Blanco-compatible driveway pavers and paver components across San Antonio, with most parts matched to your model in one visit and installed within a few days. Installed paver driveway work in San Antonio typically runs $7,000 – $18,000 depending on square footage, the paver series you have, and the condition of the base underneath. What usually brings a Blanco owner to this page is a sunken section, a cracked paver, or a paver that has shifted out of place after heavy rain. You may also notice a low spot that pools water near the garage, or a loose edge paver that rocks underfoot when you walk the trash bins out.
Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco’s driveway and paver lines are less about model numbers printed on the paver itself and more about the series, size, and color batch. The paver shape tells you most of what you need: Blanco’s standard 4″x8″ and 6″x9″ rectangular pavers, plus their 6″x6″ and 12″x12″ squares, are the most common sizes we match across San Antonio driveways. The Blanco paver is typically edge-molded with a slight chamfer, so a generic big-box paver placed next to it will look close at five feet and wrong at three. That edge detail is what we match first.
Here is the compatibility gotcha we see most often in San Antonio: Blanco color batches shift between production years. A “sandstone” paver from a 2018 driveway will not match a “sandstone” paver from 2023 exactly, even if the pattern name is identical. For small repairs, we pull from a range of lots and select the closest match. For a full driveway, we order one batch so the color is consistent across the whole run. On OEM versus aftermarket: Blanco OEM pavers carry the exact dimensional consistency and color-fastness the original install had. Quality aftermarket equivalents can work for border repairs or areas you don’t see side by side daily, but for the field of the driveway where color mismatch shows from the street, we recommend OEM for replacements under about 200 square feet. Beyond that, a matched aftermarket batch often makes more financial sense. We’ll show you both options, written out with prices, before anything is ordered.

Signs Your Blanco Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- A single paver cracks down the middle: This is almost always a base problem underneath, not a material defect. Water has eroded or washed out the compacted base, and the paver is now bridging a small void. Replacing the paver without fixing the base means the new one cracks within a year or two.
- A section sinks or dips, usually near the driveway edge or a downspout: San Antonio’s clay-heavy soil expands and contracts hard through our wet-dry cycles. If water is directed against one section of the driveway, that base settles faster. The fix is pulling the affected area, re-compacting the base, and re-laying the pavers.
- Pavers rock or shift when you walk on them: The edge restraint has failed. Driveway pavers need a solid border or concrete haunch to hold the field together. When the restraint loosens, the whole edge starts to drift outward. This gets worse every car trip over it.
- Weeds or grass pushing up between joints: The joint sand has washed out and been replaced by organic material. This is a maintenance issue first, but if it has gone on for a couple of seasons, the base may be contaminated too. Re-sanding alone will not fix a driveway that has reached this point.
- Water pools on the surface after rain instead of draining: Paver driveways depend on a slight slope and permeable or well-drained joints. When the surface settles unevenly, water finds low spots and sits. Over time, that standing water works into the base and accelerates settlement under the pavers.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full paver driveway replacement in San Antonio, plan on $7,000 – $18,000 installed. That range covers tear-out of the existing driveway, base re-compaction or replacement, new bedding sand, the pavers, edge restraint, joint sand, and a final compaction pass. Smaller repairs run lower: a 50-square-foot sunken section fix typically falls between $400 and $1,500 depending on how deep the base repair has to go and whether we’re reusing your existing pavers or matching new ones.
What drives the price is the base condition more than the pavers. If the original base was thin or poorly compacted, we’re correcting that, not just laying new pavers on top of the same problem. The written price we give you before work starts includes the paver material, delivery, base work, labor, and clean-up. You will not get a call after demo day about a “surprise” under-layer. And every completed paver project carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it is not done right, we make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely do a few things yourself before calling. Take photos of the affected area from three angles, including one straight down. Note whether the issue appeared after a specific rain or a specific vehicle. Check if the pavers around the problem area are still tight or starting to loosen too. That information helps us give you an accurate sense of scope on the phone.
What we don’t recommend is pulling pavers yourself if you’re not sure what is underneath. A paver driveway is a system: pavers, bedding sand, base, and edge restraint. Once you start pulling pieces, especially near the edge, you can unintentionally release the whole edge restraint and turn a small repair into a larger re-lay. If the pavers are heavy or you’re working a section near a sloped driveway in San Antonio heat, it is also a strain-and-slip risk. Graham Stein has walked enough San Antonio driveways to know when a repair is straightforward and when the base is the real story. Call us at (432) 233-0976 and describe what you see. We’ll tell you honestly whether it is a one-day fix or a bigger project, and the estimate is free either way.
FAQs

Blanco concrete pavers typically last 25 – 40 years in San Antonio when the base was done correctly, with the paver surface itself holding up well through our heat and UV exposure. What shortens that lifespan here is not the paver failing but the base settling from our expansive clay soils and heavy rain cycles. Call (432) 233-0976 if you suspect your base is the problem, and we’ll take a look.
No, a cracked paver cannot be structurally repaired; it gets swapped for a color-matched replacement and the base underneath gets corrected so the new paver does not crack the same way. The repair work is in the base, not in gluing the cracked piece. Call (432) 233-0976 and we’ll match the paver and quote the fix.
A small sunken section of 50 square feet or less is usually one day of work including base repair, re-laying, and joint sand. A full driveway tear-out and replacement in San Antonio typically runs three to five working days depending on weather and access. We’ll give you a written schedule with the written price before any work starts.
We keep common Blanco paver sizes and colors in our San Antonio stock, and we order OEM or matched batches for anything beyond a small repair. For color-match work, we pull from multiple lots rather than guessing from a catalog photo. Call (432) 233-0976 with your paver size and a photo, and we’ll tell you what we have before you even schedule the visit.
