Silestone Bathroom Remodeling: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
A Silestone bathroom remodel in San Antonio typically runs between $9,000 and $28,000 installed, and that number covers the vanity top, shower surrounds, and the labor to fit everything to your existing plumbing and framing. We stock Silestone-compatible materials on the truck, and we can usually have a replacement surface measured, cut, and set within five to seven business days of the signed written estimate. Most homeowners discover they need this page after a vanity top chips at the edge, a shower shelf cracks, or water finds its way behind a seam that has separated after years of San Antonio humidity swings.
Before you start pulling anything apart, know this: a Silestone surface is not a generic slab. It is an engineered quartz product with specific thicknesses, edge profiles, and color codes that have changed across catalog years. Matching a 2016 Silestone color to a 2024 slab takes someone who has spent time with the actual material, not just a tape measure. That is what Graham Stein and our crew do, and we write the matched color, the slab thickness, and the edge profile into the scope of work before a single tool leaves the truck. Write it down, price it once, do it right.
We’re an independent remodeling contractor in San Antonio, not a Silestone dealer or affiliate. What that means for you: we can match and install Silestone, but we’ll also tell you honestly when a Cambria or Caesarstone slab is a better dollar-for-dollar fit for the repair you actually need.
Which Silestone Models This Applies To

Silestone has rotated through several catalog series over the years: the Classic colors (White Zeus Extreme, Blanco City, Negro Tebas), the Eternal Series (Calacatta Gold, Statuario, Pearl Jasmine), the Loft Series, and the Sunlit Days colors introduced around 2016. The series matters because Silestone changes pigment blends between production runs. A Blanco City vanity top cut in 2018 will not perfectly match a Blanco City slab cut in 2024 without someone holding the two samples side by side under the same light.
The compatibility gotcha most San Antonio homeowners run into: Silestone slabs are manufactured in two standard thicknesses, 1.2 cm and 2 cm, with a third option at 3 cm used mostly for kitchen islands. A bathroom vanity top is often 2 cm with a laminated edge to make it look thicker. If your existing top is 1.2 cm and you want a heavier profile, the cabinets below may need reinforcement. We check that during the estimate, not after demo.
There is no meaningful aftermarket Silestone. The product is engineered quartz; generic quartz slabs exist, but they do not carry the Silestone color code or the manufacturer warranty. For a visible bathroom surface, we recommend actual Silestone when matching an existing piece. For a full replacement where you do not need a catalog match, a quality quartz like Cambria or Caesarstone can save you 10 to 15 percent. We’ll show you samples from all three and price each option in writing.

Signs Your Silestone Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- Hairline cracks radiating from the faucet holes or drain cutout. This usually means the original installation did not include enough support around the cutouts, or the slab was torqued down against an uneven cabinet frame. Quartz handles compression well but not flex.
- Chipped edges along the front lip or corners. Bathroom vanities take hits from blow dryers, shampoo bottles, and kids. A chip is repairable in many cases, but repeated chips along the same edge mean the overhang is too deep for the cabinet support.
- Visible seam separation in a shower surround or between vanity pieces. San Antonio’s humidity swings cause expansion and contraction cycles. Poorly bonded seams show up first, and once water gets behind the seam, mold follows inside the wall cavity.
- Dull, etched, or cloudy spots that do not polish out. Silestone is non-porous, but harsh acidic cleaners or abrasive scouring pads can wear the surface finish. Once the factory polish is gone, reglazing is a temporary fix, not a repair.
- Loose or shifting shower shelves and curb caps. These are adhesive failures. If a shelf moves when you press on it, water is already working into the joint, and the repair window is shrinking.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here is the San Antonio pricing picture for Silestone bathroom work, installed:
- Silestone vanity top replacement (single sink): $1,800 to $4,200
- Silestone vanity top replacement (double sink): $2,800 to $5,500
- Silestone shower surround (full walls): $4,500 to $10,000
- Silestone tub deck and skirt: $2,200 to $4,800
- Complete Silestone bathroom remodel (vanity, surround, floor trim, plumbing fixtures): $9,000 to $28,000
The spread in those numbers comes down to slab size, edge profile complexity, whether the existing cabinets can support the new surface, and how much plumbing rework sits behind the walls. We give you a written price before any work starts, and that number includes the demo, the disposal, the slab, the fabrication, the install, the silicone and sealant, and the final clean-up photo. No line items added after demo day. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the finished work: if something is not right, we make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely do the diagnostic work yourself: run your fingernail across suspected cracks to see if they catch, press gently on shower shelves and seams, and look for any discoloration around the drain or faucet bases. That information helps us quote accurately over the phone, before we schedule a walkthrough.
What you should not do is attempt to remove or reset a Silestone slab yourself. A 2 cm quartz vanity top weighs roughly 13 pounds per square foot. A typical 60-inch double vanity top can exceed 200 pounds. Dropping or twisting a slab under that weight damages cabinets, flooring, and the people holding it. Fabrication also requires diamond tooling and wet-cutting equipment that is not worth renting for a one-time job. If the issue is a chip or a seam, call us at (432) 233-0976 and describe what you see. We will tell you honestly whether it is a repair or a replacement before we ever load a tool in the truck.
FAQs

A properly installed Silestone vanity top or shower surround lasts 20 to 30 years in San Antonio. The material itself does not degrade from humidity, but the installation underneath it does: adhesives break down, house framing settles, and seams fail first. Most Silestone failures we see in San Antonio are install failures, not material failures.
A small chip or a crack that has not traveled can be repaired with color-matched epoxy, and a good repair can be nearly invisible for five to ten years. A structural crack that spans between cutouts, or a crack that flexes when you press on it, cannot be repaired reliably. We will tell you which category your surface falls into, and we will not sell you a replacement when a repair is the right call. Call (432) 233-0976 and send us a photo before you decide.
For a vanity top replacement, expect one day on site for demolition and templating, then five to seven business days for slab fabrication, then a half-day for the final set and sealing. A full shower surround runs ten to fourteen calendar days from signed estimate to finished caulk, depending on slab availability. We give you a written schedule with the written price, so you know which days the crew will be in your home and which rooms they will be using.
We stock the most common Silestone colors in the San Antonio market: Blanco City, White Zeus Extreme, Calacatta Gold, and Negro Tebas. Less common colors and any Sunlit Days catalog pieces are ordered per job, which adds three to five business days. We can also match with Cambria, Caesarstone, Kohler vanity tops, and KraftMaid cabinet lines when a full bathroom refresh makes more sense than a single-surface replacement. Call (432) 233-0976 for a free estimate, and we will bring samples to your home so you can see the match under your own bathroom light.
